What was your lifestyle before joining the team?
My lifestyle before joining Team Workout wasn’t very active. I drive petrol tankers for a living and it’s a 24/7 operation so it was a very easy excuse that I was too tired to exercise around my shift pattern and as I’ve got older and stopped playing football over 10 years ago now it’s got more difficult to get myself motivated to do anything.
What made you sign up-to the team?
I made my mind up to sign up to the team because I was putting a lot of weight on and didn’t feel heathy at all, I was out of breath just putting my shoes and socks on and when eating meals in restaurants the sweat would pour out of me, obviously not good. I’d watched a few of the you tube clips of the team and decided to sign up for a 6 week course. If I was going to achieve my goals then I knew that I’d have to have someone to push me. I love the way Paul Wilson takes no crap, doesn’t listen to poor excuses and wants to see results.
And what made you stay?
I’ve stayed because it has become part of my life now. The day I walked in for my first session I was amazed how lovely every single member was and how I was helped and pushed along when struggling. I’ve made so many new friends, I’ve seen such a change in my body since December 4th, I’m 2 and half stone lighter and I’m getting stronger every week. I can honestly say that I haven’t felt this good for over 20 years, when I was in the Army.
Where did you hear about it and what were your reservations about joining?
I heard about the team from my best friend as his sister Paula who I’ve known for years was a member. I’d seen pictures and videos of how she’d transformed her life. If Paula can do it then I knew I could. I was worried that I’d let myself go to far and I wasn’t fit enough to move the weight I’d gained, but after seeing the results of all members I didn’t need to worry at all.
What are your favourite things about the workouts, coach and the team in general?
The workouts are fun and very energetic. You are totally pushed all the time not by just the coach but by your fellow members too. No workout is ever the same, the variety is unreal. Paul our coach is so passionate about getting the best out of everyone. He has a no bullshit approach and everyone likes that attitude because they know he’s doing it to make you feel better and stronger.
What are your biggest challenges that you’ve had to overcome?
When I joined the team on December 4th 2017 I weighed 111.3kg, my goal was to get down to 100kg in 9 weeks just in time for my holiday. I didn’t think for one minute that I’d achieve this goal and was totally shocked and amazed when I weighed myself at the end of week 9 I was 98.3kg, I’d lost 13kg in 9 weeks, I couldn’t believe it. The only down side is that it’s cost me an absolute fortune replenishing my wardrobe 😆I couldn’t thank Paul and the team enough, when I got back I signed up for a 12 month program, The Team Workout is well and truly part of my life now. I feel great and my fitness levels are unbelievable to what they were.
What have your outcomes been for you?
The outcomes for being at the team are the weight that I’ve lost, ( 2 1/2 stone) and 8 inch’s off my waist, I’m fitter and healthier than I’ve been for years and I’m now in large clothes instead of xxl. I’m at a stage now where I don’t deprive myself or miss out on anything.
What would you say to someone considering joining The Team Workout?
I’d say do it if you want fast results, you will be made welcome that’s for sure and don’t be afraid of your own abilities. The workouts are fun, we have fun out goings and some team members arrange runs and tough mudders if your interested in taking part. I can guarantee that it will become part of your life once you are addicted.
